Burglars Assault Ex-Rep In Surulere, One Executed

Outfitted burglars have assaulted a previous individual from the Place of Delegates, Aliyu Kazeem, in the Surulere territory of Lagos State.

It was assembled that the burglars, who the police said were additionally religion individuals, waylaid the previous government legislator at Coker Intersection at around 11am on Friday.

A Punch reporter learnt that the thieves assaulted Kazeem's guard with firearms, cutlasses and blades.

It was accumulated that policemen from the Aguda, Bode Thomas and Surulere divisions went to the scene, prompting a shoot-out.

A police source said one of the looters was shot dead amid the trade, while another group part was captured.

He said, "The looters began shooting when policemen landed at the scene. One of the criminals was shot dead and two others have been captured and confined."

The Lagos State Police Advertising Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, affirmed the theft.

She included that the police were the trail of escaping individuals from the posse.

She said, "The Fast Reaction Squad agents, policemen from three divisions and men of Operation Plateau connected with the gangsters. One of them was shot dead. Another suspect was captured. The charge is on the trail of the escaping suspects and examination is progressing."
